Michael Riessler
Born in Ulm in 1957, member of the ensemble “Musique vivante” in 1978 in Paris, where he performs with musicians such as Michel Portal, Diego Masson, Vinko Globokar and Jean-Pierre Drouet. He collaborates with contemporary composers such as Mauricio Kagel, Helmut Lachenmann, Luciano Berio, Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Cage and Wolgang Rihm. Riessler toured in 1990 in the Soviet Union playing the works of Stockhausen. For many years, Riessler was member and composer of the National Jazz Orchestra in Paris. He performed and created projects at music/ jazz festivals all over the world. He has also worked with dancers, (Nigel Charnock „fever) filmmakers, actors, and has composed music for audio books, silent movies and films ("Heimat”, Edgar Reitz). Concerts / projects with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and the Ensemble Modern. Collaborations with Terry Bozzio, David Byrne, Sarah Vaughan, Pierre Charial, Howard Levy, Robby Ameen, Jean Louis Matinier. Numerous prizes and awards. He holds a professorship at the University for Music and Theatre in Munich.
Lorenzo Riessler
Lorenzo Riessler is a drummer and percussionist living in Berlin. From the age of 6, Lorenzo started playing the drums studying with teachers such as Benny Greb, Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang and Alessio Riccio. After graduating with First Class Honours at Bimm London (London College of Music), Lorenzo currently plays with bands and singers in the UK and in Europe. Past gigs and Festivals include: Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (UK), Saalfelden Jazz Festival (A), Cheltenham Jazz Festival (UK), BBC Radio 2 Carfest (UK), Lechlade Festival (UK), Schloss Elmau (GER), BBC Oxford Radio (UK) and many more. He has worked with many musicians such as Howard Levy, Michael Riessler, Marco Ambrosini, Jean-Louis Matinier, Enrico Melozzi, Moreno Viglione, Pierre Charial and many more.
